Motivation

One of the founders of NOTHS (not on the high street), Holly Tucker MBE, has a favourite saying: “do what you love”. This is her mantra; there is no doubt that, as a successful businesswoman who started NOTHS from her dining table in 2006, this mantra works.

There is only one problem with this; in fact, it’s a major problem. How do you know what you love? More importantly, how is this “love”, dream, or fantasy going to be realised? There is no Holy Grail ! BUT... with a bit of help I reckon most of you actually know what you really want to do all day every day so with a little “push” every day or every week holding you accountable for your actions you can “do what you love”.

Start with:

Increase motivation by simplifying your plan. Start at the beginning - if you don’t have a plan now this time to start one. Don’t think too far ahead or you will feel swamped. Start with today, just deciding to get started is good enough.

Don’t slack! Make your bed, get a proper routine every day, don’t watch TV, get dressed, don’t stay in your pyjamas all day! Take action, feed not just your body, feed your mind!

Focus on the accomplishment which you have achieved, no matter how small. Set measurable goals. The best part of any new project is getting started; because who knows where the route will take you, and who you will meet on the way. Yes, there will be highs and lows but at least there won’t be ‘what ifs’!

So take action TODAY!

Find Your Passion!

This morning we were outside in the garden and my son was fully engrossed playing in the sandpit and when he finished he moved on to filling water from one cup into another and back into the first one again. He did this with so much concentration and passion I was mesmerised watching him. Eventually I called them in for lunch and my son says… 'Mum I am a little bit busy' he said… and he’s only 3 years old ðŸ˜Š

When was the last time you enjoyed something so much that time passed and you didn't realise? Find your passion! Love what you do and live a life doing what you love!

Stay safe and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out!

Never give up

Four years ago I was pregnant and was starting to prepare for a future with children. I decided to completely flatten my garden to have a lawn that my children will be able to run around and play on, and wow am I grateful now in the Corona virus lockdown time that we have this small piece of heaven! All I left 4 years ago was one bigger tree, and we also replanted 3 Camelias and was told that this would probably not work. However I don't give up easily, and now after 4 years, new small leaves are finally coming back on one of them.

Sometimes things take longer and we need to find patience within ourselves and never give up!

Can we change the way we think?

The way we think is a fundamental aspect of our being. It is the basis for our beliefs, values, and behaviours, and it shapes our perceptio...
