Motivation
One of the founders of NOTHS (not on the high street), Holly Tucker MBE, has a favourite saying: “do what you love”. This is her mantra; there is no doubt that, as a successful businesswoman who started NOTHS from her dining table in 2006, this mantra works.
There is only one problem with this; in fact, it’s a major problem. How do you know what you love? More importantly, how is this “love”, dream, or fantasy going to be realised? There is no Holy Grail ! BUT... with a bit of help I reckon most of you actually know what you really want to do all day every day so with a little “push” every day or every week holding you accountable for your actions you can “do what you love”.
Start with:
Increase motivation by simplifying your plan. Start at the beginning - if you don’t have a plan now this time to start one. Don’t think too far ahead or you will feel swamped. Start with today, just deciding to get started is good enough.
Don’t slack! Make your bed, get a proper routine every day, don’t watch TV, get dressed, don’t stay in your pyjamas all day! Take action, feed not just your body, feed your mind!
Focus on the accomplishment which you have achieved, no matter how small. Set measurable goals. The best part of any new project is getting started; because who knows where the route will take you, and who you will meet on the way. Yes, there will be highs and lows but at least there won’t be ‘what ifs’!
So take action TODAY!
