Just before the lock down I came into the office and one of my staff with Jamaican background said I’m looking forward to going on holiday I’ll come back with a real tan” . I looked at her and said you have amazing skin I did not think that you’d get a tan or that this would be something you would really go into the sun for?
She said, absolutely and when I come back I’ll be able to wear orange again that will look so amazing on me - now I am too pale and it would not look good. Again I looked at her in amazement and said: but orange would look AMAZING on you now! You already have dark skin and the contrast will already look fantastic? In fact all colours look amazing on you already?
“No this is pale for me” š. This comes to show, what you see is not always what others see! What you feel and how you feel and how you see yourself and feel about yourself is definitely not always, how others think about you and that goes both ways, positive and negative. So scrap the negative feelings in you! They are only YOUR perceptions and perceptions can easily be changed!
Think: change your negative perception into a positive! How? Start by writing down what exactly you would like to think about yourself, what would you like others to say and then think what you would need to do to become that person. Set yourself daily little steps towards what you would like the positive perception to be, AND ALSO ask at least 5 or more people how they view your thoughts about yourself.
Of course - if you’re viewed as always being late and you actually ARE always late then start planning better! But if you feel negative about yourself in any way, check how others see this and change your own perception of yourself to a positive one.
